Cao Cao (Chinese: 曹操) (155 – 15 March 220), courtesy name Mengde (Chinese: 孟德), was a Chinese poet, statesman, and warlord. Cao Cao made great achievements in literature,espe-cially in the field of poetry.His 24 extant poems reflect the reality of his day and his personal ambitions under the titles of old yuefu ballads.His typical Jian'an style of poetry has exerted profound influence upon the future generations.
